News outlets today are reporting that Texas and 16 other states have filed a 75-page complaint in federal court, seeking to thwart President Obama's recently announced Executive Action regarding enforcement of U.S. immigration law.  The lawsuit touches upon a few areas, including constitutional arguments; federal rulemaking provisions; and, curiously, a speculative harm claim that these new initiatives will cause a new flood of undocumented migrants to come into the United States.  Despite the very clear eligibility requirements, background checks, tax obligations, etc., the anti-immigration movement continues to foment fear based upon misinformation, refuses to engage in any good faith discussion of substance, and takes unprecedented action challenging long-established valid Presidential authority.

The New York Times article is available here.  The major question on many minds is whether this litigation will actually impact the Obama Administration's actions on immigration. At this moment, it is far too soon to tell, but stay tuned . . . .
